How to Wait for the Reunion of the Church
In today’s passage, we learn how Paul has been able to enjoy some fellowship with the church, albeit in a limited way. Through Timothy’s visit to Thessalonica and return to Paul, Paul has learned about the Thessalonians progress in the faith. And this report from Timothy has only increased Paul’s desire to see them all the more. This passage, therefore, instructs on us how we wait for the reunion of the church. No doubt, many of us are longing for worship to return to some sense of normalcy, or for us to be able to figure out how to best worship in this time. We long for the restoration and reunion of our church. Let us, then, look at this passage together which teaches us how to wait for the reunion of the church.
