Look to the Future

Passage: Mark 14:12-26
Service Type:

In our passage today, you have a contrast between Jesus’ ability to see the future and the disciples’ inability. The whole passage is suffused with notions of preparation and future planning. Let’s look at the first paragraph (vv. 12–16) here in the introduction because they establish the theme for the rest of the passage. You’re probably familiar with the story: Jesus sends two of his disciples into Jerusalem to prepare the Passover feast. The disciples appear to initiate the conversation (though see Luke 22:8), but as we soon see, Jesus is one step ahead of them.
