In today's lesson, we look at two chapters in the Westminster Confession. Chapter 14 is titled, "Of Saving Faith". In this chapter we see that saving faith is a work of the Holy Spirit. Westminster Shorter Catechism 86 says, "Faith in Jesus Christ is a saving grace, whereby we receive and rest in him alone for salvation, as he is offered to us in the gospel." Chapter 15 discusses repentance unto life. We learn that repentance is not a work, but a necessary attitude and action that accompanies and follows faith.
