When Death Steals Hope, Christ Delivers Hope
What are you leaning on during these times? When it comes to your hope for a better future, for a resolution to the current crisis, and, more importantly, for your soul’s salvation, what are you trusting in?
What I want to do, then, today on Easter Sunday, is proclaim to you the hope you can have in the face of disaster, discouragement, and death. And this hope is infallible and sure. It is the same hope that Isaiah set before Judah, and it is the same hope that Paul gives to the Thessalonians at the beginning and end of the passage we have read today.
We need an infallible hope that is grounded in the finished work of Christ, that will give us hope as we wait for God’s mercy and grace and to bring us through this time. Therefore, I want to assure you today that when death steals hope, Christ delivers hope.
