As we come to the second half of the passage today, Jesus will continue to press the importance of trusting him alone for eternal life. Do we trust him with our soul’s salvation, and do we trust him enough to follow him even when his instructions seem impossible or foolish? And do we trust him to take care of us as we follow his difficult instructions? Like all tests of faith, such questions reveal what we are really trusting. Therefore, let us look at the verses we have read today considering again the question, Do you know what you are trusting for eternal life?
