In this part of Isaiah, we see Isaiah's ministry during the reign of Ahaz. Ahaz is told to trust God. He is given a sign by God. But, Ahaz does not believe God.This sign had a fulfillment in the time of Ahaz and a fulfillment in Christ. Judah will be judged by Assyria. Assyria will be disciplined for punishing Israel. Through it all, God will preserve a remnant.
