The book of Joel highlights judgment has come upon the nation of Israel, how they should respond, and what God will do for them when they repent.[1] Since God rejects apathy towards sin, we should respond with heart-felt repentance and reformation. In order to bring that about, Joel tells us that God will cause mourning and God will bring renewal. Let’s look at both of those themes in order to see that God rejects apathy.
