These Beatitudes begin the Sermon on the Mount. What Jesus is seeking to do is instruct us in what it means to live a life aligned with his Kingdom. Each Beatitude begins with the word, blessed, highlighting, if you will, the spiritual joy and favor that come from embracing the values of humility. mercy, righteousness, and peace.
