The Gracious Future of Our Gospel Body
Revelation 7:9-17
One day, the whole church triumphant will be assembled in heaven to experience perfectly what we have only begun to taste on earth.
But until that day, the work of the church and life in general are often messy. There are world and life events that shake our security. There are Christians who fall and reflect poorly on God’s saving purposes. There are divisions in the church and areas of ministry that never achieve their full potential. Sometimes churches get fixated on things that don’t have to do with the gospel and the integrity of the faith.
Such setbacks can get us focused on the present state of the church and cause us to lose sight of our ultimate destination and the ultimate triumph of the work of Christ. Therefore, in order to encourage us in the present and to give us hope for the future, let us consider this morning the gracious future of our gospel body.
