Romans 14:16-23

Our bent is to put ourselves first and to do what pleases us regardless of how this affects others. But as we read in the Gospels, and as Paul hints at throughout this passage, Jesus did not please himself but gave his life and liberty to save both Jews and Gentiles. This should convince us that loving and serving others are the highest values of God’s kingdom. And we’ll see that as we finish this chapter today. Therefore, let’s consider once again how the gospel heals our divisions in the church.
