How the Gospel Makes Its Way into the World
Romans 16:17-27
Despite the back-and-forth nature of the end to this letter, one idea comes through, and it’s the same idea that’s shone throughout the whole letter: the gospel, which is the power of God unto salvation (1:16–17). In fact, the closing verses of the letter (16:25–27) sound a lot like the opening ones (1:1–7), in which Paul celebrates how the Lord Jesus brings the nations to obey the faith. The gospel is making its way into the world, and in the letter closing Paul shows us one more time how this works. So, let’s use our last sermon in Romans to consider how the gospel makes its way into the world.
