In today’s passage, Jesus addresses the root sin of pride. The word “pride” itself never occurs, but in the interactions between Jesus and his disciples, the problem of pride will be put on display, as well as the gospel solution that enables us to put pride to death in our lives. Let’s consider, then, from this passage the death of Christ and the death of pride.
