The Transfiguration
Luke 9:28-36
We’ve been given the privilege of listening in on a conversation about God and his Son. This passage is usually called the Transfiguration, and it challenge us to consider afresh who Jesus is and what he calls us to do. This has relevance to those who are loyal to Jesus: Peter confesses that Jesus is God’s Messiah and God follows up on that confession with this encounter. This story also has relevance for those who are curious about Jesus in that it shows us what the Bible claims about Jesus and what it means to follow him. Lastly, as a church, we can identify with the disciples in trying to listen God speak to us as he shows us his glory and calls us to follow him. Therefore, let’s give our attention to the story of the transfiguration.
