Your Past is Darker than You Realize, and Your Future is Brighter than You Believe
Psalm 78:1-72
Israel’s history of rebellion and unbelief is recounted by Asaph. Asaph wants his audience to know “the cost of disobedience to the Lord and what that faithlessness has cost Israel.”[1] But he also utilizes this history to instruct and comfort, because although disobedience has led to Israel’s ruin, God’s grace has supplied the solution.[2] Therefore, let’s look at this psalm in order to see that your past is darker than you realize and your future is brighter than you believe.
