Your Past is Darker than You Realize, and Your Future is Brighter than You Believe
Israel’s history of rebellion and unbelief is recounted by Asaph. Asaph wants his audience to know “the cost of disobedience to the Lord and what that faithlessness has cost Israel.” But he also utilizes this history to instruct and comfort, because although disobedience has led to Israel’s ruin, God’s grace has supplied the solution. Therefore, let’s look at this psalm in order to see that your past is darker than you realize and your future is brighter than you believe.
